Normally the Vendors are located across the city/country, unless you are ordering the materials specific to one Product to same supplier it is not possible to pick up the materials daily.
Normally vendor supplies the material to the factory and the delivery costs are included in the PO itself, this will be the more viable option because it is not possible for a single supplier to supply all materials some times he has to bring them from other supplier and deliver.
As Jurgen suggested best option is to identify the PO's that are due for delivery in the next couple of days or day and then call the vendor to see if he can deliver them so that you can arrange for pick up.
