We have a working enviroment that is run 24/7 where we want to use Tablets (Android - Samsung). Every employee working in the 24/7 environment gets a personal tablet under Afaria-Management. An enterprise app is delivered to the tablets. For each timeslot an employee has to work, the app needs to be running properly during 40 mins in average. At one point of time, multiple employees may use the app. If the app is running, it is critical that it is not being stopped except the employee stops it manually.
The Problem/Question: As the app needs to be updated from time to time, i have tested, if a running app is being stopped when an updated enterprise app is being pushed to the device (Android Enterprise App Policy). Unfortunately, this is the case.
That means, that if we publish an app update at a certain point of time, we will kick some employees out of their processes (as we are working 24/7). Is it in any way possible to design an Afaria Setup (Policies, Groups) in a way that we can roll out an app update without disturbing the Business (e.g. Manual Updating, checking if App is running and only deliver if not, ...)?
We are using Afaria 7 on premise with SP5 and HF13.
Would be very glad to get some help/input here!
