got the same behaviour at one of my customers. The problem here was a wrong EPM installation with a wrong installation package - beside this, the customer choosed the wrong installation option during installation of EPM. Re-installation with the correct package solved the problem for him.
Neverthelesse, there is a possibility to change your EPM settings even after installation and re-define the items and icons shown in the ribbon. This is very useful if you don't wanna do a complete re-installation of the EPM or if it has centrally deployed. The settings of the EPM are stored on each client PC in the file:
Open the file with a XML editor and make the required changes. Most values are boolean and can be changed by set them to TRUE or FALSE. After EPM log out and log in, the settings take effect and you will see the changes.
