I don't think SAP PI is the right approach. It is quite normal to execute an FTP script to move a file from one file location to another. Please get in touch with SAP Basis administrators and network administrators to determine the right FTP approach. As soon as the file is accessible for the application server, you can run the extraction in automatic mode.
